Get To Know Our Industry Experts: Q&A with Gary A. Bufalo, Jr.

Gary A Bufalo, Jr., Princeton Medspa Partner’s Vice President of Operations, comes into his role with more than 20 years of experience in sales, operations, training and development. Gary has been a part of multiple national organizations, including Ideal Image, Athletico Physical Therapy and ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers, in addition to having owned his own health and wellness business for seven years.


Currently, Gary is in the process of completing his training to become a Certified Post Merger Integration Expert through the Institute for Mergers Acquisitions & Alliances. Throughout his career, Gary has been involved with seven company acquisitions, helping to integrate more than 50 clinic locations post acquisition.


We took the opportunity to ask Gary about his career, his involvement with Princeton Medspa Partners and his predictions for the future of the industry:

Q: Describe your role as Princeton Medspa Partner’s Vice President of Operations.


A: As Vice President of Operations for PMP, I’m part of the leadership team that works on our due diligence prior to the acquisition, and then have the honor of being on-site the day of the announcement to help ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved. Post-acquisition, I work with our sellers and clinics day-to-day and help them flourish with the new chapter that lies ahead.


Q: How have your decades of business experience prepared you for this role?


A: Having owned my own business for many years and then selling it, in addition to having worked as a sales and operations leader for one of the largest national med spas in the U.S., as well as being on the M&A post acquisition team with another national organization, has made my transition into Princeton Medspa Partners the absolute perfect fit for my professional passion, personality and 20 years of experience. I absolutely love being part of the Princeton Medspa Partners Family!

The medspa industry used to be more of a hush, hush industry. People have benefited from the services for years, but haven’t always talked about it with their peers, friends and family. Now, it’s a topic that is mainstream and more people are talking about it and sharing the amazing results they’ve seen from their treatments.

Get To Know Our Industry Experts: Q&A with Francis X. Acunzo

Francis X. Acunzo, Chief Medspa Officer & President of Princeton Medspa Partners, is widely regarded as a pioneer in the aesthetic industry. Francis opened the very first medical spa in 1996 and has since opened and operated several multi-site medspa companies.

Fran was recently awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from The Aesthetic Guide, a medical aesthetic publication that recognizes the best of the best in the industry once a year. Voted on by peers, Francis was the second-ever non-physician to win this prestigious award. He is recognized for his devoted career to the advancement of the aesthetic industry.

As founder of Acara Partners, voted North America’s ‘Best Practice Management Company’ in The Aesthetic Guide’s annual Aesthetic Awards, Fran and his team have provided management and marketing support to more than 350 aesthetic medical practices, and have developed more than 160 medspa locations.

We sat down with Fran to share more about Princeton Medspa Partners, his experience and his outlook on the aesthetic industry:

Q: How would you describe your role as Chief Medspa Officer of Princeton Medspa Partners?

A: As the Chief Medspa Officer for our project, my job is to ensure that we communicate with our industry letting them know what we are doing and informing the medspas that might be seeking to sell that we are ready to buy. It’s also important for me to ensure that we are always in compliance with all regulations within our industry.

Q: What excites you about working with PMP?

A: I enjoy the company building aspect. PMP is new and we are growing rapidly but also growing our corporate structure at the same time.

Q: What makes a successful medspa?

A: The passion and drive of the founders.

Q: How does PMP set its acquisitions up for success?

A: PMP brings to the table centralized accounting, IT, HR, marketing, purchasing and other back-end operations allowing the provider and front-end team to do what they do best, and that is to provide the highest level of service and customer service.

Q: In addition to becoming Chief Medspa Officer of PMP, you’ve also taken a seat on MedEsthetics’ Editorial Advisory Board. How has expanding your roles influenced your outlook on the aesthetic industry?

A: I believe it is important to continually grow and expand your knowledge base. In addition, it is important to share with the industry.
