Top Trends Shaping the Future of the Medspa Industry

June 1, 2023 by Princeton Medspa Partners

Top Trends Shaping the Future of the Medspa Industry

Since Francis and Colleen Acunzo launched the very first medical spa through a business venture with Candela Corporation in 1996, the medical spa industry has been constantly changing and evolving. There are several reasons attributed to its success and popularity as well as predictions for significant growth.

Let’s touch on the top trends we’re seeing in 2023 and how Princeton Medspa Partners (PMP) can help your practice stay ahead of the curve:

1. Increasing demand for non-surgical treatments

Due to factors such as minimal downtime, lower risks and fewer side effects, many people prefer to go the non-surgical route over an invasive surgical procedure whenever possible. Medspas today are fully equipped with a wide range of non-invasive and minimally invasive aesthetic treatments to choose from, including injectables, clinical skin care, laser skin rejuvenation and non-invasive body contouring.

2. Advancements in technology

Innovations in laser, radiofrequency and energy-based technologies have made medspa treatments safer, more comfortable, more effective and more efficient. Advanced imaging systems are also being incorporated into the medspa space, allowing practitioners to provide accurate assessments of clients’ skin conditions and customized treatment plans.

3. Enhanced focus on wellness services

More medspas are adopting an integrative approach, combining traditional medspa services with wellness treatments to give clients a more holistic experience that focuses on self-care and overall well-being. Popular services include IV therapy, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, medically supervised weight loss and more.

4. Social media engagement

The connectivity of social media platforms has allowed medspas to reach a wider audience, build brand awareness among potential clients and engage with the community in a way they never could before. User-generated content especially is an effective way to build trust and credibility by sharing authentic testimonials and before-and-after photos with your audience.

5. A shift in cultural perception

The stigma associated with cosmetic treatments for aesthetic enhancement has come a long way since Botox® was first introduced to the public. In fact, medspas are more mainstream than ever before. With shifting attitudes, people are becoming more accepting of medspa treatments to elevate their natural beauty and boost their confidence.

How PMP can help your practice thrive PMP’s unprecedented team of aesthetic pioneers and thought leaders offer unparalleled industry expertise to help your medspa stay on the cutting edge. Our decades of combined experience give us a unique advantage, offering extensive knowledge and guidance in business, marketing, technology, recruiting, accounting, education and more.

Princeton Medspa Partners Acquires Its Seventh Location with Skinjectables!

It brings us great joy to announce that Princeton Medspa Partners (PMP) has closed on the acquisition of Skinjectables, a Tucson, Arizona-based medical spa, bringing our portfolio of leading medical spas in the nation to seven locations!

Currently, PMP owns/manages seven corporate locations and three franchise locations. Additionally, we have a significant number of new acquisition opportunities signed and more than 20 additional franchise units currently under development.

About Skinjectables

Since it was founded in 2014 by Kathleen O’Brien, PA-C, MMS, CLT, Skinjectables has enjoyed tremendous success, becoming one of Allergan’s Top 10 Accounts in the United States in 2022. The Tucson-based practice has consistently been recognized as a best-in-class medical spa in the country, winning the Reader’s Choice Best Medical Spa Award, Best Cosmetic Skin Care Award and one of the category’s Best Companies to Work For Award the last two years in a row.

We were pleased to hear such appreciative words from Katie regarding the recent acquisition. “I am extremely happy with my decision to sell my business to Princeton Medspa Partners. It is very important to me to see Skinjectables continue to grow and thrive, and I feel that Princeton will accomplish just that,” said Katie. “I am very excited to be a part of this fast-growing company, and I am proud that the business I built will be contributing to PMP’s success story.”

Katie will continue to work for the company in her long-standing positions as Clinical Director and a top provider. In addition to being one of Allergan’s most utilized AMI Clinical Trainers, Katie has frequently been recognized as one of the nation’s most skilled injector providers.

Response from PMP

“Skinjectables is a phenomenal business and is an incredible addition to our company’s already impressive pedigree of best-in-class medspas. Adding Katie and her personal talents to our team is the icing on the cake,” said Princeton Medspa Partners CEO Nick Williams.

“Skinjectables offers a unique, convenient client experience, and is Tucson’s first and only walk-in Botox® and dermal filler bar. It’s really a unique and powerful business model that we think can be adapted and evolved elsewhere in the company,” said President of Princeton Medspa Partners Francis Acunzo. “With this acquisition, and the other deals and new clinic openings we have in our pipeline, I am expecting 2023 to be an exciting year!”

We are proud to be a national aggregator of medspas and aesthetic medical practices, focusing our efforts on acquiring and managing provider-owned and driven businesses, as well as franchise developments. If you’re thinking about selling your medspa, get in contact with PMP today by emailing us at info@princetonmedspapartners.com. We look forward to speaking with you!

Trending Topic: Medical Spa Memberships

March 31, 2023 by Princeton Medspa Partners

Trending Topic: Medical Spa Memberships

The popularity of mobile rewards and membership programs continues to rise in the medical spa industry.

The Benefits of Offering Memberships

Membership has its advantages. There was a time when memberships were limited primarily to fitness clubs and resort programs. Today, however, memberships are much more widespread, encompassing everything from spas to co-working spaces. Just think of how prevalent subscriptions are these days, from streaming services to workout apps.

There are also a host of rewards programs, such as the Dunkin Donuts’ DD Perks program, which recently came under fire when it was rebranded as Dunkin Rewards and introduced a new set of criteria for earning points. While loyalty programs require consumers to earn their rewards, membership programs incentivize them with immediate access to perks and benefits.

Medical Spa Memberships

Spas have long taken advantage of the membership model for its ability to boost revenue, build loyalty, promote return guests, and more. Now, medical spas are introducing memberships for many of the same reasons. A growing trend, medical spa memberships make sense for those clients interested in maintaining their results. Because most aesthetic treatments, such as injectables, fillers, and lasers, provide temporary solutions, subsequent treatments are necessary to maintain the results. A membership gives clients the opportunity to save money with a monthly or yearly membership fee.

Members also benefit from exclusive offerings and special events that let them be the first to learn of new treatments, technology, products, and more. Memberships can be structured in various ways, but the best ones keep it simple and avoid having multiple tiers. Ultimately, the goal is to build a loyal community, and you do that by understanding what clients want and providing real value for being a member.

RepeatMD Mobile Rewards

In 2021, RepeatMD launched a mobile rewards app for the aesthetics industry. It is designed to make it easier for medical spa staffs to sell memberships and high-margin treatment packages while enhancing the patient experience. It is just one of the many companies offering membership management software and apps to attract and retain clients. According to the folks at RepeatMD, the average increase in revenue from use of the app is $357,840 over the course of a year. And proving the effectiveness of membership plans, the company reports members spending 44 percent more on average than non-members annually. Finally, retention was reportedly boosted, with 7 out of 10 patients wanting ongoing treatments for aesthetic services.

Membership programs help clients stay consistent with their medical spa services and can also introduce new treatments that might not be on their radar. Ultimately, memberships should be win-win for everyone. It’s no surprise they’re on the rise.
